Work in Progress
Creating the clay mould for the new plaster, wax and drawn piece, based on fossilised tree rings and Levy Flight random walk patterns.
The test plaster cast out from the silicone mould. Quite pleased, so far, will try out a wax and maybe a resin cast, as I have an idea brewing for each!
Timeframe Placement
Reclaimed, raised, oak wood panels fused together with wax inserts, surrounds layered images of grooved ware pots. Dendrochronology the science of tree rings and plays a part in framing objects within time.
Elevated Analysis
A mix of conceptual and figurative, inspired by research into the archaeological record of human identity and how this is represented in the physical record. Featuring a high status pot, prehistoric in origin, yet recognisable and resonant through time.
